The short answer
Biodegradable dog poo bags and compostable dog poo bags are not magic outdoor disappearing bags. The words only help if you know the conditions and the bin route.
09:05
If a bag says it breaks down but does not say where or how, that is not a plan. That is label fog.
09:08
Pick up the poo. Tie the bag. Put it in the right bin.
The difference
Biodegradable is a broad word. It needs time, conditions and proof before it tells you anything useful.
09:15
Compostable is more specific, but still depends on the composting setting. Home compost, commercial compost, soil and water are different places.
09:22
For dog waste, the waste itself is the hard bit. It can carry health risks, so do not treat pet waste like vegetable peelings.
09:29
What to do after use
The everyday route is simple: bag it, tie it, and use a dog-waste bin, public litter bin or household general-waste bin unless your council says otherwise.
