The short answer
Compostable bags can support a garden routine only when they go through the composting route they were made for.
09:20They are not garden confetti. Please do not decorate the soil with wishful thinking.

The garden question
If a bag is home-compostable, it still needs a managed home compost heap with air, moisture and active material.
09:40Burying it in a flower bed is not the same thing. We already had that argument and the soil won.
09:50If the bag is commercial-compostable only, it needs a managed facility rather than a home heap.

Use the bag to collect food scraps cleanly. Then put it in the right composting or food-waste route.
