5 better swaps than vague biodegradable claims

Swap the habit first.

The short answer

If a label just says biodegradable, I want details. Where does it break down? How long does it take? What conditions does it need?

A vague word is not a waste plan. A useful swap tells you what to do after use.

10:04

Better swaps are practical, not mystical.

The five swaps

First, reuse bags you already own. Second, keep shopping bags by the exit. Third, avoid single-use bags when loose produce does not need one.

10:12

Fourth, match food-waste liners to your caddy. Fifth, check the disposal route before buying anything with a compostable claim.

10:18

That is the bit people skip. The bin after use matters as much as the material before use.

10:23

Use the tools

Not sure what fits? Try the council bin checker. Not sure where to start? The quiz gives you a quick route in.

10:31

And if a claim sounds too tidy, ask for proof. The planet does not need more label poetry.
