Do not ask whether all compostable plastic is safe. Ask what the exact product is, what it touches, and what it is certified or authorised for.

What safe can mean
A caddy liner used for food waste has a different job from a food wrapper, a cup, a fork, or a bag that touches ready-to-eat food.
